  • If you have a qualification related to Psychology and want to register with the ASCHP as a counsellor, you need to:

    • Contact the ASCHP to determine what is needed to register with them.
    • Furnish us with written information from the ASCHP stating the above and to determine the way forward

    If you have a qualification unrelated to Psychology and want to register with the ASCHP as a counsellor, you need to:

    • Contact the ASCHP to determine how many
    • theoretical and practical hours are needed to proceed
    • You are still welcome to register for PAC (week 1) in order to gain counselling skills or CPD points
  • If you are a Social Worker or Counsellor already registered with the SACSSP or ASCHP, you will gain CPD points for PAC. You can also register for our Practical Module to gain more experience

    If you are registered with any other Body and would like to gain more knowledge, skills and experience you can register for the Evolve programme.  This will not lead to registration with the ASCHP.  Please contact the ASCHP for more information.

The E-VOLVE Counselling Course will give you specialised knowledge and counselling skills in your chosen helping-profession. Whether you are a social worker, educator or someone who wants to become a counsellor, registered with the ASCHP, these skills will give you confidence in counselling and expertise to add to your CV and better chances for employment. Many of our students go on to start their own practice, offering either in-person or online counselling.

Yes you can, the only compulsory module is module 1 when wanting to undertake your practical module.

  • Module 1 is one full week of live in-person or online training. It is compulsory to attend each day of training
  • Modules 2-6: Days 1-3 of Modules are full time online or in-person. Days 3-4 are self-study.
  • The Practical Module is 100 hours in duration. The minimum time frame to complete this module is 4 months. The average part-time student takes 6-8 to complete the practical module

We offer online training as well as in-person training. The venues for in-person training will be announced in due course.

What is the difference between an HPCSA, ASCHP or CCSA counsellor?

No, only registered counsellors or psychologists registered with the HPCSA can claim back from medical aids.

 There are no structured payment plans available, however you can pay instalments as long as it is paid in full before your start date.
