Training
COUNSELLING MATTERS TRAINING aims to provide anyone with a NQF 4 or higher qualification,
counsellors, social workers, child and youth care workers, social auxiliary workers and other helping professions with specialised skills and knowledge to develop careers and to promote and improve opportunities for employment.
Our E-Volve course enables you to obtain all the necessary theoretical & practical hours needed to register with the ASCHP & work as a supportive holistic, wellness or specialist wellness counsellor.

Meet Your Lecturers
Alicia Van Vuuren
As a clinical social worker and subject specialist within the social sciences field, Alicia's greatest passion is in the field of training and development. She loves to combine knowledge and practice with the aim of empowering others to make a difference in the counselling and helping professions.
Alicia also has vast experience in training and facilitation and has done guest lecturing at both University of Johannesburg (UJ) and University of Cape Town (UCT).
She also has provided supervision for social workers at both UJ, UCT and WITS universities.
She has also developed material for various programs for NACOSA which included Child and Youth Care; Basic Counselling and Mental Health Literacy.
Alicia is co-owner of Meraki Counselling in Pretoria, Centurion and Johannesburg. Alicia is currently undertaking her PhD at North West University. Alicia is also an accredited enneagram practitioner and a qualified and accredited assessor and facilitator with HWSETA.
Mariska van der Meulen
Mariska has been working in the field of education, training and development, as well as counselling for more than 20 years. She initially qualified as a lawyer from the University of Pretoria (UP), but very quickly realised her passion lies within the humanities field and pursued his studies in psychology. Mariska gained vast experience in corporate management and training whilst working for large educational corporate in different roles.
She headed a business school, worked as national trainer manager and has been lecturing for more than 10 years. She has acted as a mentor and supervisor to students as well as counsellors. Mariska is the founder and co-owner of Meraki Counselling, offering counselling services like couples counselling, teenage counselling, trauma counselling, family therapy as well as play therapy in Johannesburg and Pretoria. She is also currently busy qualifying as an international TRE facilitator. Her passion lies with the growth, development and personal empowerment of people in the mental health field.
